“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT
So a few days ago, the Lord laid it on my heart to reach out to female victims of rape and sexual assault. He placed a burning desire on my heart to cover you in prayer and also offer you words of encouragement. 54% of sexual assault victims are between the ages of 18 and 34 (www.rainn.org). Furthermore, 1 out of 6 American women have been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted while in college. These statistics truly break my heart. Rape and sexual assault are way too common in our society and fear of many different things often keeps victims from reporting. Years later, the emotional and psychological effects of sexual assault and rape on the victim leaves them with depression, anxiety, guilt, and other forms of trauma.
Sister, I want you to know that even though this horrific event has happened in your life, you are not alone. I know often times when we go through things in our lives, we begin to question God. We begin to lose hope and we don’t think He cares. “God why did you allow this to happen?! Do you even love me?! Do you even care…I thought you protected the ones you love…” Regardless of what may have happened to you in your life, most of us have been at that point. Because of the sinful world we were born into, unfortunately we will never get away from trials & tribulations. However, once we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, our names were written in His book. He is preparing a place for us with Him and our Heavenly Father. This place has no pain, no worry, no tears, no grief.
While here on Earth, we must find our strength and courage from God. Sister, I know it feels like you may never be whole again. That you are weak. Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you. Stand firm on the Word because it is Truth. “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless” (Isaiah 40:29 NLT). No matter what you may face in your life, God has already defeated the enemy. His love is unconditional. His arms are always open to embrace His children. What happened to you was not your fault. Your body is a temple. It was not your fault. The devil thinks he won. He tries to make you think you’re unlovable…..tainted…broken. Nothing, not a word that the evil one says, is true. Everything God says is true. He is Truth. Everything He says is so. God says that you are:
-Loved

-Healed

Define yourself by who your Father God says you are. Seek support from professionals, ministers, family, and friends. We may be hit from all sides and knocked down in life, but we are not knocked out. We serve a God who conquered death. Faith in Him and that He can restore you in every way that you feel depleted is all you need. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:6-7 NLT). It may not happen overnight, you may not ever go back to who you were before, the good news is that you don’t have to let that dark time define you and your days. Joy comes in the morning.
Every day speak these faith confessions over yourself: I am a child of God, therefore I don’t have to be afraid or dismayed. I know God is with me. He will strengthen me, help me, and uphold me with His hand (Isaiah 41:10).
I am a child of God, therefore no weapon formed against me shall succeed. God will disprove every tongue that rises against me in judgment (Isaiah 54:17 ESV).
I am a child of God, therefore God is in my midst, a mighty one who will save me; He will rejoice over me with gladness; He will quiet me with his love; He will exult over me with loud singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
I am a child of God, therefore God’s Word is there for me. It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
Sister, I love you so so so much and want you to know I am here for you. You are not alone. God placed this on my heart for a reason. Someone reading this has given up because of what has happened to them. Someone else has contemplated suicide or other forms of self-harm. Someone else thinks because a coward took something from them they are no longer pure in the eyes of God. I rebuke every single thought the devil has tried to whisper in your ear and convince you to believe. I declare and decree on this day that you are free from the strongholds! Where the presence of the Lord is there is freedom, there is victory! I pray that the Lord gives you the peace, the comfort, the healing you need. Please please reach out for prayer, encouragement, anything you need. I am here for you, but most importantly God is here for you. He always has been and always will be. Allow His love to cover you. He’ll never leave you or forsake you.
With Love,
Ki
If you are reading this and you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, and He is tugging at your heart please repeat these words:
“Jesus I love you and I know you love me. I believe You are the Son of God and that You came to earth and died on the cross to save me. I believe you resurrected three days later with all power in Your hands and ascended to Heaven and that You are coming back to take me to Heaven with You. I want eternal life with You.”
That’s all it takes! Accept Him in your heart today, confess it with you mouth. Reach out to me to inquire about next steps! Welcome to the Body of Christ, welcome to the family
