When Your Plans Fail

The New Year is here and I know that we all have new goals and plans to start the New Year off right. And that’s wonderful. But what happens when things don’t go as planned? Or overtime you set out to execute different plans and something continues to go wrong? This could be a sign that your plans are not in alignment with the plans God has for you. Scriptures say that “many are the plans in a person’s heart but it’s the lords purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21) Yes we have all these exciting plans to move to start business but God’s purpose for your life will eventually carry through. So when things don’t go as planned don’t get discouraged because when you get discouraged you quit, but in reality that wasn’t the path you were suppose to take in the first place. So I’m asking you, are your New Year Plans God’s plan or your own?
Don’t be so caught up in your own plans that you leave no room for God to lead and guide you. From my personal experiences God doesn’t give you every little detail step by step. He tells you while you walk. So actually if your doing God’s plan you won’t have all the steps in front of you to create a full plan. It’s called faith. Do you trust that he is going to provide and carry you through this journey? I’m not so sure about plans or goals. What’s most important is having a vision. What is the bigger picture? Once you have a vision develop a strategy that allows you to execute that vision and then create a lifestyle that allows you to work on your vision daily.
Creating a lifestyle is important because there is no change without a change in your daily routine. Goals with out a bigger picture are useless. For example, if your goal is to loose 30 pounds by next month. Then what happens once you loose the 30 pounds? Your right back to the same unhealthy eating habits? That’s why it’s important not to just have goals but a vision, and then creating a lifestyle that helps you to execute that vision daily. And usually when it’s God’s plan for your life it takes everything in you so your lifestyle will eventually need to change.
Here are three tips to help you execute God’s plan for your life:
1. Pray and ask God to give you a vision and a strategy. You’ll know it’s from God because it will be in alignment with his word. It will never be solely for your own personal benefit or gain but it will always include helping others.
2. Once God gives you a vision create a lifestyle or a routine that allows you to work on that vision daily. There is no change without a change of routine.
3. You have to have faith. You have to believe in the vision God has given you and that he will provide you with the resources necessary to execute your vision.
